Our Campaigns Are Our Interviews

 

It’s true — that’s what our campaigns are. They’re our interviews.
We’re supposed to be proving to you, the voter, why we deserve the job more than the next person.

 

Around 70% of Members of Congress have held elected office before. About a third of them have law degrees. Another third are business owners, founders, or executives.

 

My résumé looks a little different.

It’s not filled with titles or insider experience — it’s filled with life experience.
The kind that doesn’t fit neatly on a flyer or on a brochure but teaches you more than any political career ever could.

 

I know what it’s like to be unable to buy groceries.

To be priced out of your home.
To be denied healthcare and not be able to afford treatment.
To have been homeless.
To worry that someone you love could be taken away by ICE.

 

Because I know what it’s like, I’ve spent years thinking about how we fix it — how we make this country actually work for its people again.

 

Members of Congress seem to have forgotten who they work for.
Their boss isn’t the President.
It isn’t their party leadership.
It’s you.

 

Our representatives work for us — the people.
And it’s time we remind them who’s boss.

 

I’m Gwendolyn “Gwen the Dem” Molina, and I’m running to be the Representative for California’s 41st District — because I know what it’s like.
And I’ll never stop fighting for those of us who’ve been fighting just to get by.

 

Because our campaigns are our interviews —
and mine says: I know what it’s like to live this life.
